Bring it on, 2012!

If it's true what the Mayans, Nostradamus, and conspiracy theorists globally say, and 2012 really WILL bring the end of the world as we know it, then I REALLY need to get a jump on this resolution stuff. I'm going to make sure my last year alive is my most awesome year ever. Better safe than sorry, I suppose.

So, here it goes, without any further ado. My 2012 Resolutions Bucket List:

  1. Learn Spanish (not just the swear words). - Thanks to Rosetta Stone, I am well on my way to achieving goal #1! I just hope I can get through all nine discs before December...
  2. Challenge myself into becoming ambidextrous. - They say it helps challenge your brain on deep levels. Not only that, but it would be nice to paint my own fingernails and have both hands look descent.
  3. Spend more time with the people that matter most to me. - I have a habit of keeping myself busy. REALLY busy. Between working a ton (usually multiple jobs), going to school, volunteering with BBBSU, the animals, attending the 97 weddings I get invited to every summer, etc. I sometimes forget that there are only so many hours in a day, and at the end of them all, people are what really matters. I don't want the people I adore to feel neglected in any way, especially if they are one of the few that are always there for me whenever I need them.
  4. Read more. - This one will actually prove to be a pretty big challenge. Not because I don't like reading -quite the contrary, actually- but because I already read a ton. We started a "book club" during our Christmas dinner discussions and decided that we would each take turns picking a book so that others would be forced to read books that they maybe wouldn't choose otherwise, and hold each other responsible for finishing the books that we start in a timely manner (We meet the last Sunday of every month for dinner and to discuss the book). I'm pretty excited, actually. Thank goodness for wine, and the brilliant ideas that come about whenever it is a factor in the equation.
  5. Take better care of the body that takes care of me. - I don't want to make it sound like I'm a crazy couch potato, junk food fanatic or anything, but let's face it. When time is short, exercise is one of the first things to get placed on the chopping block. My body takes excellent care of me, and I am bound and determined to return the favor. That way, if this planet doesn't burst into flames come 12/21/12 I will be able to fit into all the skinny clothes I will have purchased for myself for Christmas.
That about sums it all up! Here is to another wonderful, amazing  year!!
