I have been so behind on keeping up on my adventures I feel awful - then I realize I am behind because I am busy living a crazy, busy, enchanted little life. Everything comes in to perspective and all is well.
A few weeks ago my friend Christine and I traveled out to Denver to do a little "work". I use the term extremely loosely, as we worked for about 5 hours of our entire weekend long trip. Mostly I went out to visit my sweet aunt Lori, and meet her wonderful, amazing, sweet, incredible family for the very first time.
This may sound weird, but our driving time was some of our best time. Bonding over bodily functions, blasting our Bob Dylan with the windows down, being silly, and just doing what we do best (aka - being awesome). I think she's pretty GREAT (pun intended).

We love Denver. And sundresses.

We were greeted at the door by a respectful, thoughtful, gracious, considerate (did I mention studly?) wonderfully mannered young man named McKale, who as you can tell, I am pretty fond of. Lori and Chantel came home and from the moment we were all together, my life was full of awesomeness!
Sweet little Coco was just as darling, fun, vivacious, giggly, and sweet-spirited as I had imagined her to be. She made sure that we felt welcome before we even arrived, and I could just not get enough of her! She just makes me giggle.

| Just gotta love this girl! |
I had heard so many stories about my Uncle Darin - how funny and sarcastic he was, just as every other teasing, silly uncle is. What I hadn't heard about, was how smart, thoughtful, protective and generous he is. Duh! Of
course he had to be awesome - he married my Lori, didn't he?
Lori. What can I put into words that can even come close to adequately describing my Lori? Let me make a small attempt: smart-as-can-be, strong-willed, independent, feisty, funny, insightful, thoughtful, generous, forgiving, brave, strong, sweet, curious and just all around amazing. I felt connected to her the very first time I ever met her, and it hasn't changed. I can go months without talking to her, but I still always feel so comfortable and loved when I am around her. We are very similar in ways, so we
get each other. I can be as honest as I need to be and she passes no judgement. I can be as
me as I need to be, and she loves me anyway.

| An oldie, but a goodie. |
Anyway - that's enough of the mushy gushy stuff. Here are a few pictures of our short, but amazing family time together:

It rained a lot, but we didn't mind playing inside while we watched McKale's basketball tournament. I just love this girl!!

Movies/Masks night was my fave. Even McKale got in on the action. What a good sport - and what a stud!

I feel very fortunate that we were all finally able to connect. I am so glad that they are a part of my life, and I am so glad that I get to be a part of theirs. It's only been two weeks since our visit, and I am already getting the bug to head out there again!!
